Re: Version 1.6.1 released

Thanks for this new release. I think there is a bug. I use openSUSE 11.3 KDE (64 bit). I install it from the source codes. The problem is in TV Showes (series) Colleciton. When I add a new entry I can't type in the text box that it's default text is "New series - Season 1".

Re: Version 1.6.1 released

I just updated gcstar from 1.5.x to 1.6.1... I bit disappointed by change in sorting. gcstar before version 1.6.1. (probably, before 1.6.0) sorts movies lexicographically (spaces and, probably, some other characters are ignored during sorting):

102 Dalmatians
12 Angry Men
1492: Conquest Of Paradise
2001: A Space Odyssey
28 Days Later...
2 Fast 2 Furious
300
3000 Miles To Graceland
3:10 To Yuma

gcstar 1.6.1 sorts the same movies in different order:

2 Fast 2 Furious
3:10 To Yuma
12 Angry Men
28 Days Later...
102 Dalmatians
300
1492: Conquest Of Paradise
2001: A Space Odyssey
3000 Miles To Graceland

It is not lexicographical sorting, but someting similar to numeric sorting... It is probably ok for coin collections, but it seems it has no sense for movie or book titles, because sometimes it produces strange results:

3:10 To Yuma
03:00 Sharp

Why "3:10" is placed before "03:00"?

Another example of new sorting is more frustrating:

[Batman 6] The Dark Knight
Batman [1]
Batman [2] Returns
Batman [3] & Robin
Batman [5] Begins

gcstar 1.5.x sorts the same movies in more natural order:

Batman [1]
Batman [2] Returns
Batman [3] & Robin
Batman [5] Begins
[Batman 6] The Dark Knight

(Text in brackets is a part of title, I added it to get movies properly sorted within the "series".)

I am disappointed because physical media (cd and dvd discs) in my collection are sorted in sync with gcstar. Now I have to re-sort few hundreds physical items... Is it possible to get back old lexicographical sort of movie titles?

Hello Moderator,

You can remove the last entry, from "kalvindale", (and perhaps this post as well).

kalvindale's entry is spam. See the 50 000+ hits here:

Should you have a problem using GCstar, you can open a bug report or request some support on GCstar forums.
