Use Google Books API

I was wondering if someone who is apt in Perl could implement a search using the Google Books API as described at https://developers.google.com/books/docs/v1/using .

It appears to be a very straightforward task: make a GET request to https://www.googleapis.com/books/v1/vol … arch+terms , then process the resulting JSON document using some Perl JSON library.

The search can be made more specific using the same keywords that can be used for the normal Google Books search, eg. "inauthor", "intitle" or "isbn".

Thank you for the great product!

Re: Use Google Books API

That's an awesome idea! I haven't had much free time lately, but I was doing some work on some other GCstar plugins. Anything with an open XML/JSON API is really not too hard to implement. HTML-scraping plugins are such a hack, and break very easily anytime the original website changes.

Should you have a problem using GCstar, you can open a bug report or request some support on GCstar forums.
