Re: Export to HTML

Hello,

Before exporting, apply all the filters you want. You may also use the Advanced Search or finer control on the filtering.

Then when you export to HTML, check the box with label "Export only displayed items". And the page will only contain the one that correspond to your criteria.

Re: Export to HTML

Ok I misunderstood what you mean. Actually you want to control what fields are displayed for each item.

To do that, as you guessed, you have to create or modify a template.

Re: Export to HTML

Unfortunately, there is no documentation about that for the moment. But you may have a look to the existing templates. They are in share/gcstar/html_models/ (relative to where you installed GCstar). There is a directory for each kind of collections. For movies, the templates are in GCfilms.

Re: Export to HTML

Oh there it was smile I was looking that file but still. I opened it with notepad and tried but it's too complicated to me. Could you make me that template? I know you have your own things to do but if you have time I would be grateful. If you can. I can make you picture what I would like Tian-Mario would look like. It just need few changes.

Re: Export to HTML

Hi!

You haven't had time to answer so i ask different question. Could you promise me that you can make me that template someday? Because i don't need it now. And if I would know you could make it I could start adding films to GCstar.

Re: Export to HTML

@ markomaani
Do the following:
- open 'share/gcstar/html_models/GCfilms/Tian-Mario' with your editor (notepad)
- find the following lines:

     <tr class="tr2"><th>$$format_LABEL$$</th><td>$$format$$ ($$number$$)</td></tr>
     <tr class="tr1"><th>$$rating_LABEL$$</th><td>$$rating$$/10</td></tr>
     <tr class="tr2"><th>$$audio_LABEL$$</th><td>$$audio$$</td></tr>
     <tr class="tr1"><th>$$subt_LABEL$$</th><td>$$subt$$</td></tr>

- and replace them by:

     <tr class="tr2"><th>$$place_LABEL$$</th><td>$$place$$</td></tr>

- save file as 'share/gcstar/html_models/GCfilms/Tian-Mario-Markomaani'
- In GCStar export your films to html using the new Tian-Mario-Markomaani
- open the exported html-file in your browser and make a screenshot.
- resize the screenshot to 400 pixels width and save as 'share/gcstar/html_models/GCfilms/Tian-Mario-Markomaani.png'.

This should do the trick according to your picture above.

Re: Export to HTML

That's AWSOME!!! ...but it needs one(two) changes. I make here new picture.

http://personal.inet.fi/atk/make293/kuv … omaani.png

That viewed is added and maybe this other one is not neccresery. Thos actor would be listed like this

Van damme - bogeyman
Clint Eastwood - Jesus
ect.

not like Van damme - bogeyman, Clint Eastwood - Jesus

and i dont need that many 10 would be good.

And one other thing. What files I have to send if i send this GCstrar file to friend? Only the .gcs file?

And BIG thanks to gueba tis now much better already.

Re: Export to HTML

That viewed is added

after this line:

Code:

<tr class="tr2"><th>$$place_LABEL$$</th><td>$$place$$</td></tr>

just add:

Code:

<tr class="tr2"><th>$$seen_LABEL$$</th><td>$$seen$$</td></tr>

but note, that you will not get resuls as "YES" or "NO", bot only "1" or "0". Reformatting the actors-field would also need a lot more of coding to be done and I'm not sure if I can do it (or have the time and will to try...)

What files I have to send if i send this GCstrar file to friend? Only the .gcs file?

The *.gcs file contains all your data to be used with GCStar installed on his machine. If you want him only to view the exported list in his webbrowser, you have to send the (exported) *.html - file plus the generated folder (*_images), which includes the exported pics.

Re: Export to HTML

Thanks!

Is it possible to have it YES and NO?
And so i just save the .gcs to my backup HDD. Are the front covers in that file too? Because it's really small.

And when somebody has time I would appreciate if somebody makes those actors to that list kind of. And makes that viewed to YES and NO.

But really THANKS a lot gueba.

Re: Export to HTML

everything is possible

Are the front covers in that file too? Because it's really small.

See http://wiki.gcstar.org/en/faq#how_may_i … d_machines
You should really spend some time reading the docs!

You can find a modified template here: (right click and save as...) http://freenet-homepage.de/bartl/downlo … Markomaani
and the according pic here: http://freenet-homepage.de/bartl/downlo … omaani.png

Note: there will always be "YES" or "NO" no matter what language you have chosen.
The actors list must be separated by comma ",". It is limited to 10 lines. If you have more than 10 actors in your field, the rest will show up in the last line as before (most import-modules only import 10 actors.

have fun!

Re: Export to HTML

Hi Markomaani,
I'm not sure, I understand what fields you use for two different ratings. To make things easier I made a template, based on the 'Tian-Mario-Template', where the table contents all possible fields. http://freenet-homepage.de/bartl/downlo … -Mario-All
You can edit (delete, move up or down) and play around with the rows to fit your wishes.
The table starts at

Code:

<!-- START OUTPUT FIELDS IN TABLE -->

and ends at

Code:

<!-- END OUTPUT FIELDS IN TABLE -->

.
Each row is between START and END -comments:

Code:

<!-- START ORIGINAL TITLE -->
<tr class="tr1"><th>$$original_LABEL$$</th><td>$$original$$</td></tr>
<!-- END ORIGINAL TITLE -->

Always move/delete the whole block!
You will find some double content formatted differently [webPage (not linked/linked), viewed and favourite (0/1 and NO/YES), genre, cast, lending history and assigned tags (comma separated and new line)].
In each row you will notice two expressions surrounded by $$

Code:

<!-- START DATE -->
<tr class="tr1"><th>$$date_LABEL$$</th><td>$$date$$</td></tr>
<!-- END DATE -->

The $$xyz_LABEL$$ represents the field name (depending on the chosen language), the $$xyz$$ is the field-value. You can edit the field name and replace $$xyz_LABEL$$ with clear text (f.e. $$original_LABEL$$ --> Aka)

have fun and feel free to ask, if you have problems.

Re: Export to HTML

Hi all,
very interesting Thread. One more question. The included templates are very helpfully, but is anywhere a list with the names of all fields in the database how to use it in a template? For example:  Original Title (in database) = $$original_LABEL$$ (in export template). I hope anyone is understanding my question, bit my english is not the best.

Re: Export to HTML

Hi Andre,
This is a simlipfied list taken from the 'Tian-Mario-All' - template above (only the first comment-line).
You will recognize 5 sections according to the 5 panels in the program: main (Wichtigste Felder), general (Allgemein), details (Details),lending (Verleih) and tags (Tags).
These section-names have no values (i.e. you can use '$$General_LABEL$$' in a template, but not '$$general$$').
I put the german expressions in parantheses, to make things easier for you.

gueba

Code:

<!-- START MAIN LABEL --> (WICHTIGSTE FELDER)
        <!-- START ID -->               (Kennung)
        <!-- START TITLE -->            (Titel)

Re: Export to HTML

Hi gueba,
thanks for your help. These list is very helpfully for me. Maybe the list could be included in the help content of the program? One more question. I'm trying to find out the place holder für "add date". I tried to use some different possibilities, but it doens'nt works. I used $$add_DATE$$  $$ADD_DATE$$  $$add_date$$  $$ADD_date$$  $$adddate$$  $$addate$$ but nothing works. Could you or anyone else give me an idea?

Re: Export to HTML

Hi again,
an example of my disaster:
I use the following code in a template:

    <b>$$original_LABEL$$$$SEPARATOR$$</b> $$original$$<br>
    <b>$$director_LABEL$$$$SEPARATOR$$</b> $$director$$<br>
    <b>$$actors_LABEL$$$$SEPARATOR$$</b> $$actors$$<br>
    <b>$$location_LABEL$$$$SEPARATOR$$</b> $$location$$<br>
    <b>$$add_date_LABEL$$$$SEPARATOR$$</b> $$add_date$$<br>
    <b>$$borower_LABEL$$$$SEPARATOR$$</b> $$borower$$<br>
    <b>$$rating_LABEL$$$$SEPARATOR$$</b> $$rating$$<br>
    <b>$$out_since_LABEL$$$$SEPARATOR$$</b> $$out_since$$<br>
    <b>$$minimum_age_LABEL$$$$SEPARATOR$$</b> $$minimum_age$$<br>
    <b>$$genre_LABEL$$$$SEPARATOR$$</b> $$genre$$<br>

And the result is the following:

Original title:  Married... with Children (Arbeitstitel: "Not the Cosbys")
Director: Gerry Cohen
Cast: Ed O'Neill (Al Bundy), Katey Sagal (Peggy Bundy), Christina Applegate (Kelly Bundy), David Faustino (Bud Bundy), Ted McGinley (Jefferso D'Arcy), David Garrison (Steve Rhoades), Amanda Bearse (Marcy Rhoades), Buck (Buck the Dog), Lucky (Lucky the Dog)
:

:
Rating: 0
:
:
Genre: Komödie, TV-Serie

Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

André.

Re: Export to HTML

Hi Andre,
Take a look into the template, I mentioned above:
http://freenet-homepage.de/bartl/downlo … -Mario-All
There you will find the proper expressions...
for example:

Code:

<!-- START LOCATION -->
        <tr class="tr2"><th>$$place_LABEL$$</th><td>$$place$$</td></tr>
        <!-- END LOCATION -->

<!-- START ADD DATE -->
        <tr class="tr1"><th>$$added_LABEL$$</th><td>$$added$$</td></tr>
        <!-- END ADD DATE -->

and so on ... (the above list is only an excerpt from the template). In addition you will find different ways to format certain fields in it. Just download it and use it to export your db, then everything should be clear.

In german: die obige Liste ist nur ein Auszug aus dem von mir bereitgestellten Template:http://freenet-homepage.de/bartl/downlo … -Mario-All
Die entsprechenden Werte  (siehe obiges Beispiel) findest Du, ebenso wie zusätzliche Formatierungsmöglichkeiten im Template. Runterladen und Deine db damit exportieren, dann sollte das klar werden.

Should you have a problem using GCstar, you can open a bug report or request some support on GCstar forums.
