Record locking

For collaborating on one database it is necessary that the system does some record locking.
Is it possible toe work with (for example)  4 people on 4 computers on the same database?

Thanks in advance

Re: Record locking

The items database is stored in a regular file (.gcs extension). Such a file could be on a network drive and shared between computers but there would be some risk of conflicting edits.

For this kind of use case, a library management software would probably be better.

Re: Record locking

To make a copy of a collection, one can export it to an external drive or a archive file (.tar.gz) or simply save it as GCS under a new name (and possibly in a new directory).

Should you have a problem using GCstar, you can open a bug report or request some support on GCstar forums.
