Gcstar View 2.12 crash

Hi, my cell phone is a galaxy Note 4 Model SM-M910C Android Version 6.0.1. I use Gcstar 1.6.2 on Ubuntu 14.04 because I could not upgrade to version 1.7.1 because of the download error. I export my comic book collection (+5,000) as described in the gcstar Viewer application (version 2.12) and, when downloading to Note 4 and opening the application, it closes automatically. I always send a report with the data of my cell phone, but I never received a response.

Re: Gcstar View 2.12 crash

Hello Barrios,

Debugging the compatibility of Android apps is no small task and for GCstar, I seems that Tian, the original author, may be currently the only one able to investigate and fix something!

In the meantime, did you tried to export your collection as HTML and image files to be read in you Android device through a web browser?

Hello, I tried html but did not get good results. I believe that this problem will remain for a long time. Is the link to download version 1.7.1 broken?

Re: Gcstar View 2.12 crash

The original repository of GCstar was closed in May. Version 1.7.1 is still available on Launchpad or using the package installation application of some Linux distributions.

For more recent updates of the application and the plugins, one can use the Test branch of my unofficial Git repository.

But this repo doesn't host the Android application Scanner and Viewer. Personally I'm using the Shelves application (partial source code) on my smartphone and I'm considering writing some import/export mechanism between GCstar and Shelves.

Thanks. I will test Shelves and the idea of being able to import / export between gcstar is great!

Should you have a problem using GCstar, you can open a bug report or request some support on GCstar forums.
