Missing dependencies on Windows x64
Hi everybody ![]()
I have been using GCStar happily for quite a while, under Ubuntu Hardy and Windows XP, without major trouble.
Now I installed the latest version on Windows XP 64bits, and apparently the following dependencies are missing ![]()
DateTime::Format::Strptime qw/strptime/ Missing for Utils
Gnome2::VFS Missing for GraphicComponents
Archive::Tar Missing for GraphicComponents
The rest is all green ![]()
I can open my collection and edit it, up to any text field: it then pops the missing dependencies and refuses to edit.
Are there dependencies that are "x64 sensitive"?
Can there be something wrong with a path (installed in "Program Files (x86)")
I know there is a package of GTK+ for Windows 64bits, but don't know how to install it properly.
Thank you for your help!
Greetings from a french guy in Switzerland

Re: Missing dependencies on Windows x64
Hi GCStar people! ![]()
So, nobody has any idea what's happening with 64bit Windows OS?..... ![]()
I guess I'll have to use it with Linux then.
Thanks for reading anyway, I remain curious for any solution though.

Re: Missing dependencies on Windows x64
Dear all again,
I now have Windows 7 pro 64bits installed, but I still get the same missing components:
DateTime::Format::Strptime qw/strptime/ Missing for Utils
Gnome2::VFS Missing for GraphicComponents
Archive::Tar Missing for GraphicComponents
That with the latest 1.5.0 version of GCStar.
Please help !...
Best thoughts,
Tony

Re: Missing dependencies on Windows x64
I don't know about your specific problem, but I also have missing dependencies under a plain XP SP2 (except I get Gtk2::Spell instead of Archive::tar), and that never stopped gcstar from working for me (so far). Of course, nobody knew why there even are missing dependencies when the windows package supposedly contains everything. Sorry for not being more helpful...

Should you have a problem using GCstar, you can open a bug report or request some support on GCstar forums.
