Retrieve Video-Tags from MatroskaFiles
Hello!
It would be very nice to retrieve the Video-Informations like Resolution, Runtime, .. from Matroska Files!
The specifications can be found here:
http://www.matroska.org/technical/specs/index.html
Information about Matroska: http://www.matroska.org
Matroska aims to become THE standard of multimedia container formats.

Re: Retrieve Video-Tags from MatroskaFiles
*beep*
I have found something that would be interesting for the developing team:
http://people.ucsc.edu/~rswilson/other/ … aParser.pm
Somebody has written a MatroskaParser in PERL, is it possible to integrate this in gcstars for retrieving Information ( Resolution/Size/Length/.. ) from files?

Re: Retrieve Video-Tags from MatroskaFiles
Hello,
Thank you very much for these information. The ideal way to integrate this in GCstar, would be to add a new method in GCExtract/GCExtractFilms.pm that would reuse the part of this module that would be useful for GCstar. It should not be very hard. But this will require some time. So if anyone want to work on this, please do not hesitate as I will be busy with other stuff for the moment.

Re: Retrieve Video-Tags from MatroskaFiles
Hello Tian,
If you want, i can take a look at the source, and try to integrate that, but i have not so many experiences in perl programming, more in python and c++ , but i think that's no problem, perl is very similar to other syntaxes..
Is it possible to join the developing team?

Should you have a problem using GCstar, you can open a bug report or request some support on GCstar forums.
