More Fields

First thing first: I love what you do and finally there is proper collections application for linux :-)

I have request for more fields. For example: I use Ant Movie Catalogue for Movies database.
Importing AMC file in Gcstar is useless, because of encoding issues (AMC uses CP1250 while Gcstar is Unicode), but that's not such a problem since I export whole database to CSV format and Search/Replace those 6 characters essental for my language. The problem is AMC has more fields than Gcstar. Some of those (missing) I really need. Wouldn't be nice to include option for expanding database fields? Or add missing ones?

Some fields cannot be imported because Gcstar defines them differently. One of those is Audio format. AMC exports AC3;448 which stands for AC3 audio format with 448 bitrate. Gcstar exports audio fields as AC3 (448). I know, this is meant for DVD audio streams but I guess this application isn't only DVD based? We also use Divx/Xvid/Wmv/MPEG1/2....

Is there any chance we can expect such improvments?

Cheers!

Hello,

Unfortunately, there is no way for the moment to add fields to default collections easily. It could be added to future versions. But for the moment I have no idea about how it could be implemented.

I didn' get the point here. What exactly is the problem? Would you like the audio field to be different in GCstar? In wich way?

You also mention exporting. Are you talking about one of the export module provided with GCstar?

About exporting: I mentioned exporting just to see how Gcstar separated field for audio

I hope this helps a bit :-)
