Which Wiki for GCstar's documentation?
Hello,
I'd like to create a Wiki for the GCstar's documentation where users would be able to contribute. This will contain documentation for users and developers.
The problem is that I am not familiar with these tools. So if anyone know a good system to use, please let me know.
Here are the requirements:
- Light resources usage (it will be hosted on a mutualized server)
- Easy to use and configure (I want to spend time on creating content, not administration)
- File upload (to add pictures such as screeshots in an article)
- Conformance to standards ( (X)HTML and CSS)
- An interface easy to customize to make it looks like the other GCstar's websites (even better would be to directly integrates it in the main website)
- If possible, interface with punBB (used for these forums) to share users
I don't need a lot of things. The previous points are really more important than some special features.
Thank you for your opinions.

Re: Which Wiki for GCstar's documentation?
I think wikkawikki corresponds to most of the requirements :
http://wikkawiki.org/HomePage see http://wikkawiki.org/WikkaFeatures
for PunBB interface, well, you'll have to modify the appropriats "action" used to log in : in user contribution http://wikkawiki.org/CodeContributions you may adapt the one used for phpBB http://wikkawiki.org/WikkaWithphpBB
For internationalization (changing menus language), there's also a user contribution, but for content translation you may have to install another instance of wikka wikki (or use page naming conventions like I did on my wiki http://cookerspot.tuxfamily.org/ ).
That will be better than wikimedia which is a bit heavy on tuxfamily.org as stressed at http://faq.tuxfamily.org/wakka.php?wiki … lSoftwares )

Re: Which Wiki for GCstar's documentation?
Hello,
Thank you for your answer. I will have a better look to WikkaWiki as it looks great for my needs. It seems that DokuWiki could also be a good software for this and it is recommended by Tux Family. I found another useful website and issued a comparison between them:
http://www.wikimatrix.org/compare/DokuWiki+WikkaWiki
The main difference I found was the use of text files for DokuWiki and a database for WikkaWiki. But I am not sure about which one would be better. Do you know if there are some limitations for database size of for disk usage in tuxfamily?
A small difference is that DokuWiki has a section editing feature. But WikkaWiki could generate differences between any revisions (while this other one is limited to comparison between the current and previous ones).
I found this for DokuWiki:
http://wiki.splitbrain.org/wiki:auth:punbb
It won't be a problem to adapt the phpBB plugin for WikkaWiki to to punBB I think. But this will require some time (and I prefer using my free time to code for GCstar ). So if anyone knows such a plugin, it will be really appreciated.
Thanks again baud123.

Re: Which Wiki for GCstar's documentation?
ya doku-wiki will be fine too, we use it for http://vhffs.org
Indeed section edition can be useful when the page is long.
For quota limitation : did you have a look at http://faq.tuxfamily.org/wakka.php?wiki=FaqGenerale ? 100 MB by default, but just ask the admin for more if needed.

Should you have a problem using GCstar, you can open a bug report or request some support on GCstar forums.
