Help - file won't open

After changing the display view from Details to Images, GCStar hung and I had to close it (Win XP SP3).

Now when I restart and open it, the Collection progress bar opens to the point where it says "Sorting Collection" and then freezes.  Anything I can do to recover from this?

Thanks

Andrew

Okay - I can open it now after deleting the config file in the Application Data folder but now, again, when I change view it just freezes....

Re: Help - file won't open

Okay -sorted my own problem.  One of the imported books had an incredibly long title with a full stop in it.  Renaming the associated cover picture without the dot and shortening it allowed the collection to load in Image view and then I could re-associate the cover image with the book.

Phew.

Thanks guys!  I know you were there for me! (LOL)

PS - Really like the shelf view Wood in 1.6.  Just a pleasure to look at.  Thanks!

Is this a manually assigned cover, or was it fetched from one of gcstar's plugins?

Re: Help - file won't open

It was fetched - but the error if you like was on the Amazon site since the title included a subtitle.  The main title was punctuated by a full stop.

Can I ask, I am noticing that the ISBN which I use to retrieve the information from Amazon is not stored in the retrieved record.  Is that correct?

Re: Help - file won't open

Another problem I have found is that where the image file has been deleted and I edit the record's image with "Choose File" it goes to a temporary directory and consistantly crashes.  Workaround is to clear image first (even though there apparently is no image) before selecting Choose File.

Re: Help - file won't open

Small niggle - any way to get GCstar to open maximised?  It always seems to open windowed a title bar height below the top of screen.... (both on my desktop 1440 x 900 and my netbook 1024 x 600).

Should you have a problem using GCstar, you can open a bug report or request some support on GCstar forums.
