GCstar forums - [HowTo] Run the latest GCStar version (svn repo)

Hi,
I've created a pair of scripts to automatically update GCStar to the latest version available in the svn repository (http://svn.gna.org/svn/gcstar/trunk).

The zip is too big, so I've uploaded it here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JH5Q6G8S

For Windows

1. Download the file GCStar_update.zip here and uncompress it.

2. Go to the win folder just created and open the file config.txt.

3. Set the following variables:
  - tmpDir = set it with the path of a temporary folder ("c:\windows\temp" can be good)
  - gcstarDir = set it with the path of your GCStar installation (something like "c:\programs\GCStar")
  - gcstarRepo = set it with the url of GCStar repository (it is "http://svn.gna.org/svn/gcstar/trunk")

4. Save and close the file.

5. Run GCstar_update.bat file.

NOTE: Attention! this will overwrite all your customization made on GCStar (such as personalized Icons, themes, etc...)

For Ubuntu

A script has already been created. It's available here: http://wiki.gcstar.org/en/test .
