Crash importing amc file under arch linux
Hi!
I am runing gcstar 1.1.1 on arch linux
When I try to import an .amc file gcstar just crash without error (in X at least)
I launched it from console, to see some errors, and just show:
$ gcstar
Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
Using the fallback 'C' locale. at /usr/bin/gcstar line 261.
Out of memory!
Callback called exit.
$ Magic number checking on storable file failed at ../../lib/Storable.pm (autosplit into ../../lib/auto/Storable/fd_retrieve.al) line 349, at /usr/bin/../lib/gcstar/GCPlugins.pm line 88
(the "Out of memory!" part is when gcstar crashes)
the amc file is in a ntfs-3g mounted partition... is this a problem?
(I have no tried with the amc file on an ext3 partition yet)
TIA, and sorry for the bad english
Luciano

Re: Crash importing amc file under arch linux
Hello,
First sorry for this late reply.
I don't think the problem could be because of the partition type. But it could be worthy to do the test with an ext3 fs.
How many items does this collection contain? Could you please attach it to this bug report or send it to me (tian (a) gcstar.org)?

Re: Crash importing amc file under arch linux
Oops!
I was making an email for you, attaching the file... but a few minutes before send it I remember to try it in a ext3 partition...
I copied the file... and imported ok!
and then... I tried importing from the ntfs partition, and worked ok too!
I think that was problems with my mount and rights over that ntfs partition, the first time i tried to import the file...

Re: Crash importing amc file under arch linux
I am happy to know you don't have this problem anymore. But GCstar should not behave like this in such situations and output a better error message. I'll try to perform some tests.

Re: Crash importing amc file under arch linux
Or maybe it was just a problem of low memory?
I do not remember how much applications I was using on that moment...

Should you have a problem using GCstar, you can open a bug report or request some support on GCstar forums.
