How to open gcs file

After building a new computer I have re-installed GCstar and am trying to open my main collection, a list of everything I own.  The file is called things_we_own.gcs and contents look like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<collection type="Things_We_Own" items="77" version="1.6.1">
<information>
  <maxId>68</maxId>
  <name>Things We Own</name>
  <owner>Kristofer Bergstrom</owner>
</information>

<item
  gcsfield1="monitor"
  gcsfield2="Dell 30&quot; 3007wfp flat-screen monitor"
  gcsfield10=""
  gcsfield3="computing"
  gcsfield4="office"
  gcsfield7="desk, mounted"
  gcsfield8=""
  gcsfield9=""
  gcsfield5="8"
  gcsfield6="900"
  gcsfield11=""
  gcsautoid="1"
>
</item>
<item
  gcsfield1="computer, lugtop"
  gcsfield2="home-made i7 computer w/ scalvaged monitor"
  gcsfield10=""
  gcsfield3="computing"
  gcsfield4="office"
  gcsfield7="desk"
  gcsfield8=""
  gcsfield9=""
  gcsfield5="8"
  gcsfield6="1300"
  gcsfield11=""
  gcsautoid="2"
>
</item>
.
.
.
</collection>

How do I open (import?) this file with GCstar?  Do I need to re-create all my collection fields first?  Or perhaps these are stored in a file separate from the data file?

Should you have a problem using GCstar, you can open a bug report or request some support on GCstar forums.
